Philanthropy is most powerful when funders break through the typical silos. That’s the driving principle behind the Latin America Funders Collective (LAFC)—a project I’ve had the privilege of working on over the past year alongside Tinker Foundation, Focus Central America, and Tawingo Fund.
LAFC was founded on the belief that when funders and individual donors come together as peers, they can strengthen their giving strategies and create new pathways to amplify their collective impact. Too often, philanthropic efforts operate in silos, limiting opportunities to share knowledge and resources. By fostering connectivity, shared learning, and open dialogue, LAFC serves as a pro bono resource to U.S.-based donors interested in beginning or expanding their giving in Latin America and to locally led organizations.
Now more than ever, this kind of support is critical. If you’re looking to deepen your impact in the region or connect with like-minded funders, visit the LAFC website here.
